USAT is currently in the process of testing new satellite data equipment that will provide additional connectivity for our clientele. Our equipment was put to the ultimate test this week with a major storm system. We tested our satellite data equipment, with a Cradlepoint AER1600 router to handle the failover. We are happy to report our test equipment performed very well during the heavy storms that swept through the southeast yesterday. It maintained the communication link for all but the heaviest rainfall. During the outage, the Cradlepoint AER1600 router failed-over to a cellular link. When the datalink came back, the AER1600 automatically switched back to the satellite link.
