EN-2000Encore Networks, a global leader in M2M solutions for fixed and wireless communications, announced that Verizon Wireless has certified Encore’s EN-2000 wireless broadband router for use on Private Network constructed on Verizon’s 4G LTE infrastructure. The device features seamless compatibility with the LTE radio link. Due to the product’s certification, the EN-2000 is now approved for applications where privacy concerns require an enterprise to specify a private network not interconnected to the public Internet.

Verizon Wireless Private Network enables Verizon 4G LTE wireless devices to send and receive data to and from the customer’s IP network, without traveling over the public Internet. Private Network allows customers to deliver mission-critical information efficiently to their mobile workforce and connected devices while reducing security and reliability concerns. Keeping data communications segregated from the public Internet blocks unsolicited traffic and decreases security risks associated with malware, viruses, spyware and worms. In addition, Private Network allows enterprises to support new M2M and distributed enterprise processes across a wide-range of industries such as, transportation, digital signage, point-of-sale and utilities.

Peter Madsen, Founder of Encore Networks, believes Verizon’s certification of the EN-2000 on the Private Network is a step in the right direction.

“This is another important milestone in our ongoing relationship with Verizon Wireless as it opens our solutions to a much wider segment of their customers. Verizon Wireless Private Network is perfect for enterprises with branch offices needing to access and send sensitive information via a wireless router like our EN-2000,” explained Madsen.

The EN-2000 is a powerful, full-featured router that provides license free IP, VPN, Firewall, and Ethernet Switching. Enterprise customers can use 4G LTE as a primary or back-up network connection, which eliminates the high costs of conventional wired networks. The EN-2000 is manufactured in the USA and comes with a three-year warranty.

The EN-2000 certification follows the EN-4000 Verizon Wireless certification announced earlier this year. The EN-4000™ broadband router provides additional hardware capacity and flexibility., and is available for extreme temperature hardened operations commonly found in industrial and outdoor environments.
